IEPNG ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Annual General Meeting for the Institution of Engineers PNG Inc. for 2008 was held at the Crown Plaza on 17th April, 2008. Attendance was very good in that a lot more engineers attended than in previous years. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Sen Hugo, President of IEPNG Board of Directors.
The AGM accepted the 2007 Annual Report which was presented as a published book. The report contained information about IEPNG and the Financial Report for the 2007 Financial Year.
The main outcome from the AGM relates to the issue of the huge differences in the remuniration packages of Engineers working in the Public sector vs Private Sector. The AGM agreed that a Commitee to be headed by Engineers from the Department of Works to research, evaluate and put in place a strategy to enable the remuniration packages of all engineers in the different professions to be the same.
The AGM also farewelled Mr. John Cholai and Mr. Pidi from the Board and the declaration of Mr. Joseph Hamylton and Mr. Sylvester Kenatsi as the new lected Board members for 2008 - 2009.
    
After the AGM, the Engineers enjoyed a buffet lunch which was provided by IEPNG.
